PRP Microneedling in Tracy, CA

Skin rejuvenation that uses your body’s own regenerative abilities rather than synthetic fillers, delivered by our medical team.

What Is PRP Microneedling?

PRP microneedling combines two treatments that work well together. Microneedling uses a specialized device to create controlled micro-channels in the skin, which triggers your body’s natural repair response and stimulates collagen and elastin production. Platelet-rich plasma, drawn and concentrated from your own blood, is applied during the procedure and absorbed deep into those channels, delivering growth factors directly where the skin is rebuilding.

The two halves reinforce each other. Microneedling on its own produces good results by prompting the skin to repair itself. What the micro-channels also do is give something a pathway in. Applied to intact skin, PRP largely sits on the surface. Applied during microneedling, it reaches the layer where collagen is actually produced.

The result is skin that has been prompted to rebuild rather than filled or resurfaced from outside. Collagen and elastin production improves the skin’s structure and firmness over the weeks following treatment, which is why results develop gradually rather than appearing overnight.

This treatment fits our practice more naturally than it might appear. Everything we do works from the same principle, which is using your body’s own regenerative capacity rather than introducing something foreign. It is the identical PRP process we use for joint and tendon injuries, applied to skin. And because the material is your own, allergic reaction and rejection are not concerns.

What It Treats

PRP microneedling addresses skin texture and quality broadly rather than one narrow concern, which is why patients often come in focused on one thing and appreciate the change in several.

It is commonly used for:

  • Fine lines and early wrinkles, particularly around the eyes and mouth where skin thins first.
  • Acne scarring and textural irregularity, one of its most requested applications, since the treatment prompts remodeling in scarred tissue.
  • Uneven tone and discoloration, including sun damage accumulated over years.
  • Enlarged pores, which often appear smaller as skin firmness improves.
  • Stretch marks, on the body as well as the face.
  • Overall dullness and loss of firmness, where the goal is healthier skin rather than correcting one specific flaw.

It is a good fit for patients who want to look as refreshed as they feel without invasive procedures, fillers, or synthetic products. If your goals are better suited to a different treatment, we will tell you.

What the Procedure Involves

Treatment begins with a consultation. We look at your skin, discuss what you are hoping to change, and review your medical history and medications, because certain conditions and medications affect candidacy. You will get a realistic picture of what this treatment can and cannot accomplish for you before anything is scheduled.

On treatment day, we start with a small blood draw, comparable to routine lab work. Your sample is spun in a centrifuge to separate and concentrate the platelet-rich plasma, which takes a few minutes while you wait. A topical numbing agent is applied to keep you comfortable.

Your provider then performs the microneedling, creating controlled micro-channels across the treatment area while your PRP is applied and absorbed. The procedure itself is relatively quick, and most patients describe the sensation as tolerable with the numbing in place, often comparing it to light sandpaper.

Afterward, expect redness and a warm, tight feeling similar to a mild sunburn for a day or two, sometimes with slight swelling. Most people are comfortable in public within two to three days. You will receive specific aftercare instructions, including sun protection, which genuinely matters for your result.

Because collagen production is a gradual process, results build over the weeks following treatment rather than appearing right away. Most patients need a series of sessions spaced several weeks apart for their best result, and your provider will recommend a number based on your skin and your goals.

Aesthetic Care in a Medical Setting

There are plenty of places to get microneedling. What differs here is the setting.

This is a medical practice. Your treatment is performed by our clinical team, your medical history and medications are reviewed before you are treated, and PRP is prepared using the same process and standards we use for the regenerative injections that are core to this clinic. We have been working with platelet-rich plasma for musculoskeletal conditions for years, which means the preparation side of this is well-established territory for us rather than a new service line.

It also means honest guidance. If your goals would be better served by a different treatment, or if this is not likely to give you what you are picturing, you will hear that from us. We would rather have that conversation at the consultation than have you spend money on a series that was never going to deliver.

Frequently Asked Questions

We are at 227 East 11th Street in Tracy, on 11th Street by Tracy High School, across from McDonald’s, sharing a parking lot with Center Appliances. Our hours are Monday through Thursday, 9am to 6pm.

Yes, and a number of our patients do exactly that. Your provider will coordinate the timing so that treatments do not overlap in a way that complicates recovery from either.

No. PRP microneedling is a cosmetic treatment, so insurance does not cover it. Financing is available through CareCredit, Cherry, and United Credit if that is helpful, and we will review the full cost with you at your consultation before you commit to anything.

Not right away. Your provider will tell you how long to wait, typically at least 24 hours, so the micro-channels can close. Applying makeup too soon risks irritation and infection. Plan for a day of bare skin.

Microneedling alone works, and it produces good results by prompting your skin to repair itself. Adding PRP delivers concentrated growth factors from your own blood deep into the micro-channels, reaching the layer where collagen is produced. The channels are what give PRP a route in, which is why the combination outperforms either one applied on its own.

It has a good safety profile. Because the PRP is derived from your own blood, allergic reaction and rejection are not concerns. Microneedling is minimally invasive with a well-established record. It is not right for everyone, though: active skin infections, certain skin conditions, some medications including blood thinners and recent isotretinoin, and pregnancy are among the reasons we may recommend waiting or against treatment. We review your history at the consultation.

Some patients notice improved glow and texture within a week or two, but the meaningful change comes from new collagen, which the body produces gradually. Expect results to build over several weeks and to continue improving for a few months after a series. This is not an overnight treatment, and anyone telling you otherwise is overselling it.

Most patients get their best results from a series of sessions spaced several weeks apart, with the number depending on your skin and what you are trying to address. Acne scarring generally takes more sessions than overall rejuvenation. Your provider will recommend a specific plan at your consultation.

A topical numbing agent is applied beforehand, and most patients find the treatment tolerable, often describing the sensation as light sandpaper across the skin. Some areas are more sensitive than others, particularly around the forehead and along the jawline. Tell your provider if you are uncomfortable at any point.

Most patients have redness and a warm, tight feeling similar to a mild sunburn for one to two days, sometimes with light swelling. Most people feel comfortable in public within two to three days. Many schedule treatment before a weekend for that reason. You will get specific aftercare guidance, and sun protection matters more than usual while your skin recovers.
